Womens Things

There are several reasons why women wear hair extensions, but while they can make your hair longer and fuller and overall achieve the effect of making you look more glamorous (what's the point, otherwise?) they don't come without their own set of problems.

Some people wear extensions because they are unable to grow their own hair long, or as quickly as they would like to. Some people genetically cannot grow their hair past a certain point. Others might be able to, but realise that growing your hair long is a slow process: the average growth rate of hair is about 1 cm a month, so getting your hair from, say, shoulder length to mid-back is going to take some time. You could have an important date coming up, such as a wedding or your husband's company dinner and there simply isn't time to grow your hair long enough.

Some people have thinning hair or bald patches. There isn't much you can do about that except cover them up. Hair extensions can completely cover bald spots and they can provide a lot of extra volume to thinning hair.

Add Highlights

You might want to add highlights to your own hair without the risk of using chemicals or dyes, and carefully selected hair extensions can enable you to do this. You can also enjoy many different types of styles for your hair when you have extensions which you can't do if your hair is shorter.

However, wearing hair extensions may not be all sweetness and light and they can come with their own set of problems. Whatever type of hair extensions you use, they will take a little getting used to. There is no doubt that you get a feeling of having something extra in amongst your hair, and they do, of course, add some extra weight, albeit not a lot.

Unless you use clip-in hair extensions, which you can put in yourself in five or ten minutes once you have got the hang of it, you are going to have to spend some time in the stylist's chair. Even something as straightforward as tape-in hair extensions can take the best part of an hour, while weave or sew-in extensions will have you sitting there for several hours. The longer you sit, the more it costs. Furthermore, you are going to have to go back every few weeks to have the extensions removed and replaced, as your own hair grows out. On top of that, some types of hair extension are only good for one or two uses and then have to be replaced, so that is an additional cost. This last point is a very good reason for using top quality human hair extensions which, given some tlc, can last for up to 12 months.

It Costs Money

Overall, using hair extensions is going to cost money, unless you opt for very cheap synthetic extensions. However, although they are cheap these simply do not have the look and feel of real hair and you are very restricted in what you can do with them. You can't apply any sort of heat because they are made of plastic (yes, really!) and you will melt them if you do. So you can't use curling tongs, straighteners, or even blow them dry. You can't dye them, either.

You have to be very careful how you brush your hair, because if you get it stuck you can pull out your extensions, or even your own hair. So you no longer can brush from roots to ends, which is the "correct" way to do things. You have to brush up from the ends to the roots, but of course this means that you are no longer brushing oils from the roots to the ends so you have to add oil on to your ends manually so that they don't dry out and become brittle.

If you have any type of glue on your extensions you will need to wear a shower cap and try to make the gap between shampoos longer so that the shampoo doesn't start to break down the glue.

However, if all of this is putting you off, it shouldn't. Google "hair extension specialist near me" and you will find one who can answer all your queries and advise you as to the best type of extensions for your particular hair.

Highlighting and contouring originated from male to female drag queens to use makeup artistry as a way to soften their jawlines and conceal their facial hair and brow ridge. This style of makeup was known to be heavy on the highlight and contour and very expressive. However, to non-professionals, the art of contouring and highlighting can seem like a daunting task as there can be confusion in the correct way to apply it.

Highlighting and contouring is a corrective technique, used to create the ideal face shape, meaning it isn't the same for every person. For women, while highlighting and contouring there's a fine line between enhancing your best features and painting on an entirely new face. Women already have soft and feminine features. When applying makeup, the overuse of products can otherwise completely exaggerate and create unflattering features.

Here's the thing, the makeup industry has made a killing off of the "beat face" trend and made the over usage of highlighting and contouring the new norm. The goal now is to give yourself features you don't actually possess: Brighter, bigger eyes. A narrower, daintier nose. Using 20 products to achieve a "natural" look or more. The tips, tricks, and techniques have come from beauty guru's and YouTubers, not professional makeup artists.

This isn't the case if you know how to do makeup properly. You'd find that by following techniques other than that of a professional you may end up incorporating unnecessary steps just to look "natural."

While professional makeup artists take similar steps using highlighting and contouring flawlessly to enhance- not hide your beautiful features, they understand that successful highlighting and contouring is to use as little product as possible so the end result is believably natural, to blend it in well and to add more color gradually.

Good makeup is makeup that looks good in person and in photos, and that accentuates features instead of hiding everything. There's an art to this. Heavy foundation, then heavy concealing, followed by heavy cream highlight/contour can look great at night, on stage, or on camera, but in person, it is quite extreme. Heavy makeup instead just draws attention to large pores, pimples, and other and other facial flaws.

A light natural highlight and contour for the average woman on a daily basis is a gorgeous thing to learn and practice. Some important tips to know before incorporating highlighting and contouring into your makeup application is that:

• Less is more

• Contouring is subtly defining one's features and for it to appear flawless, it should be barely noticeable.

• Mixing concealer with foundation can create a more seamless and natural highlight

• Practice makes perfect facial flaws.

How could anyone turn down a custom-made box filled with things you wouldn't usually buy, but you'd definitely love? Especially for the girl on a budget, there are a lot of subscription boxes just waiting for you.

When we talk about beauty subscription boxes, there are different subscription services that give out 5-7 sample/ full-size beauty products monthly for less than the MRP of the product.

How Do Subscription Boxes Work?

The process is simple. A new user signs up for a monthly fee (could range anywhere from INR 499 to INR 1599 depending on the service) and usually completes a short survey about their tastes and preferences. There are a few boxes now that give out the opportunity to choose and customize the products in the box. After that, the subscriber gets a box of personally selected goodies automatically delivered right to their doorstep. While the MRP relies upon the brand, an extensive piece of the buyer interest of membership boxes originates from value price and comfort since the boxes give out the best-curated items in under their unique MRP.

It isn't only a blast for the clients, yet additionally for the brands. In this day and age of unlimited choices for everything, brands need to endeavor to slice through rack mess, be it physical space at their retail shop or snap and-mortar outlets like Amazon where a scan for "lipstick" returns a stunning 48,000 outcomes.

With the help of a subscription box, the brands come out of the clutter as well as the customers get acknowledged about the brands and their new launches. For many acne sufferers, the wide variety of treatments and medications can be confusing. With wrong information, it is easy to commit mistakes and aggravate acne condition. Here are some common acne and blackhead removal mistakes to avoid.

Not trying acne treatment long enough

Skin may react to products slowly. Acne requires time to heal and improve. Give products at leas irritated during the first few days of a treatment. This only means that the product is reacting to the skin t one month to work and continue to use it if there is any improvement. It is also common to feel a little irritated during the first few days of a treatment. This only means that the product is reacting to the skin. However, these irritations should only be mild, discontinue the use of any products that causes severe side effects.

Over cleaning the skin

Aggravated scrubbing can only worsen acne because it removes the protective skin barrier and can lead to irritation. Use a pH balanced cleanser to clean the face gently. Washing the face more than twice can also strip the skin of its natural oil, making it drier and more susceptible to bacteria.

Trying too many products at once

Trying too many products at once can irritate the skin, especially in products with strong chemicals. Keep your skin regimen clean and simple. Some products also counter act the effects of other treatments. Be sure to consult a dermatologist if you have any serious side effects or want to know more about how a product will affect your skin.

Choosing the wrong products

Harsh cleansers and alcohol based products can worsen acne. People should choose products that do not clog the pores to prevent acne buildup.

 Popping and picking acne

Picking on blemishes only prolong its healing process and increases the risk of scarring. Fingers can transfer bacteria to the wound and infect it. This only leads to more swelling. Wait for the pimple to dry out.

Waiting too long to see a dermatologist

Contact a specialist if acne is starting to get out of hand and when treatments do not respond to the acne anymore. Clinics are more equipped to deal with persistent acne and can prescribe stronger medication.

Over-using or under-using medication

Only use medication as instructed. People tend to over use the product in hopes of speeding up its effects, but this will typically just lead to dryness and redness. Some people tend to under use their products because they lose motivation after a few weeks without result. One secret to treating acne is consistency and patience.

Stopping the use of acne products once it clears up

Once acne has subsided, use acne medication less and less rather than abruptly stopping its usage. To keep skin clear and blemish free, people usually have to continue to use one acne product that has been shown to work well for them.

Hairstyling has become one of the most important things when it comes to beauty. Women love to do different experiments by making unique hairstyles even on a daily basis. It seems uneconomical to go to a hairstylist every day so, it is preferred to achieve your new hair look by having styling tools like a straightener, curling rods, perming iron, and a blow dryer. It seems ridiculous to spend a handsome amount of money on something that doesn't fit your needs. There are certain things that you need to consider before purchasing high-quality tools:
1. The Texture of Your Hair
We all are blessed with different types of hair. Some of us possess silky and smooth hair whereas, many of us have dry and frizzy hair. It is crucially important to know the exact texture of your hair before purchasing any hairstyling device. For example, titanium iron is best suitable for frizzy hair.
2. Size of a Tool
Basically, there are three sizes of hairstyling tools available i.e. small, medium, and large. It is necessary to select a perfect size for your hair. Usually, small sizes are appropriate for thin hair whereas, medium and large styling tools are feasible for thick and long hair.
3. Features of a Tool
Spending a bunch of rupees on a basic tool is nothing but a waste of money. It seems insane to use an expensive straightener that doesn't give you an option of changing the temperature. One should select a tool which is worth the money spend on it. Twin Fusion is an excellent device which provides you with multiple options like straightening as well as curling.
4. Material Used in a Tool
The material used in any device or a tool is of great importance. Materials used in the plates have a great impact on your hairstyle as well as hair health. Considering the plate's material before purchasing an instrument is the necessary thing to do. Generally, the following materials are used in the manufacturing of styling devices:
• Ceramic
Ceramic hair tools come in different structures and composition. Pure ceramic plates and ceramic coated plates are two opposite things. Pure ceramic tools have plates made from 100% pure ceramic which has an excellent heat retaining properties. It takes a few seconds to heat them up. Whereas, ceramic coated plates have metal underneath the ceramic coating.
• Titanium
Titanium hair tools are far better than ceramic made tools as they are more heat absorbent and more durable.
• Silicon & Teflon
Silicon and Teflon are also being used in hairstyling tools but can flake off the iron.
• Tourmaline
It is a crystal silicate mineral that helps you to achieve a shiny and bouncy hair look.

1. Do not use a lip pencil that contrasts with your lipstick; it has been unfashionable since the ’80s. Not only does it almost always looks severe, but it also gives a contrived appearance to the mouth area.
2. Do not wear lipstick that is a different color tone from the rest of your makeup. For example, if you are wearing a rose-toned blush, wear a rose-toned lipstick.
3. Do not use lip gloss in place of lipstick during the day; it can bleed and won’t last as long as lipstick.
4. Do not exaggerate or change the shape of your mouth with your lip pencil or lipstick; it will look like you missed your mouth.
5. If you want your lipstick to last, wear more of it and don’t blot it; blotting takes off several layers before you’ve even left the house.

Touching Up

As the day goes by, even the best-applied makeup can slip, fade, and get phone- or fingerprinted. Long days call for a few quick touch-ups to revive beautifully applied makeup. Following the steps below, in order, will revive the look you started with.
• If you have oily skin, blot away the excess oil by laying either a tissue or oil-blotting paper on it. Perm endpapers also work well. Do this before reapplying any makeup.
• Remove all of your lipstick so you can start over after you have touched up your face makeup. Apply a light layer of lip balm if your lips feel dry.
• Once the excess oil on your skin has been absorbed, take a fresh sponge and smooth out the foundation, blush, and contour (women with dry and normal skin should also follow this step). Use a gentle, buffing motion, making sure to smooth things as you go.
• Apply a little extra concealer under the eyes if that area looks a bit dark or if the concealer has faded.
• If you need a little more foundation over blemishes or discolorations, blend it on now, avoiding the blush and contour area.
• Dust a light layer of pressed powder over the face. A pressed powder with sunscreen that includes the UVA-protecting ingredients of avobenzone, titanium dioxide, or zinc oxide is an excellent option to ensure all-day sun protection.
• Apply more blush or contour if needed, but only if needed, and be careful; color “grabs” more over makeup that has been on the face awhile.
• If you want to touch up your eyeliner, particularly under the eyes where it might have smeared, use a powder shadow instead of a pencil. Use the corner or side of your makeup sponge to remove any smeared eyeliner.
• If your eyeshadows have creased, blot the area gently with a tissue or blotting paper and then use a brush to smooth out the color. Apply a powder over the area to even out the shadows and add whatever color is needed to make the eye makeup look balanced.
• Finally, reapply your lipstick and lip liner.

For those who are new to the world of self-tanning, the process can be quite intimidating, and worries are certainly understandable. The most common concerns are turning orange, smelling like burnt toast, and leaving lotion stains all over the place. The good news is that you will quickly get the hang of it after a few tries, and realize that in order to have great success, you must follow three rules: 1) use a high-quality product, 2) apply it properly, and 3) leave it on long enough for it to take effect.

The latter can sometimes be the most intimidating since self-tanning products seem to come with a Catch 22: although you have to wear it long enough to do its job, you don't want to smell bad at work or school while it's doing it, nor do you want to wear it too long and risk looking like a carrot. Fortunately, you do not have to worry much about any of these concerns so long as you follow the three rules mentioned above; especially the rule about leaving your product on for the right amount of time.

DHA Reaction Times

If you are using a high quality product, which you should be, it will take at least 6 hours for it to begin taking effect, and at least another two or three for it to render long-lasting results. This means that most good quality self-tanners must be worn between 6 and 10 hours for best results. Why? The answer is DHA. According to the American Academy of Dermatology, the most effective sunless tanning products contain dihydroxyacetone (DHA) as the active ingredient.

Before you take a shower, go swimming, get sweaty, or come into contact with water at all, you must let the dihydroxyacetone take effect first. If you do anything that gets you wet or makes you sweat profusely before the product can work, you will not get the best color possible because the DHA didn't have time to react with the amino acids in the upper layer of dead skin cells to produce a lasting color change.

Application Tips

To solve the concerns of smelling strange or feeling uncomfortable for an entire day, simply apply your self-tanner at night, let it fully dry, go to sleep, and then shower it off in the morning. This method gets great results. After you shower, any residual streaks and smells will be gone, and you will see nothing but luminous, glowing skin!

There are so many different lotions and potions available to care for your hair and skin these days that it's difficult to choose the right one. If you take a trip into your local drugstore, you will be greeted by row after row of shelves full of various products, all promising to work wonders and create miracles. I think really the only way to find out which products are right for you is to experiment and try for yourself. One of my favourites that I've been using for a while now is argan oil.

Sometimes referred to as 'liquid gold', it is a natural product, extracted from the kernels of the argan tree which is native to Morocco. It is often used as a moisturiser as well as in products to care for your hair. This is due to the fact that the oil has a high nutrient content and is rich in fatty acids, anti-oxidants and vitamin E which is vital for healthy skin and hair. It is also renowned for making hair soft, silky and shiny and to help make frizzy hair more manageable. Other reported benefits of argan oil for hair include the promotion of healthy hair growth, prevention of scalp dryness and itching and the restoration of dry and damaged hair. As a non-greasy, easily absorbed oil it is often used as a skin moisturiser which can benefit dry skin in particular. It is also known for it's anti-ageing properties and many advocates of argan oil have stated how it has helped their skin conditions such as acne and eczema. I have used argan oil to help treat dry skin on my elbows and knees and it worked very well for me and left my skin beautifully soft and smooth with no irritation.

Because of it's beneficial properties, celebrities including Angelina Jolie, Charlize Theron, Kylie Minogue, Madonna and Taylor Swift are all users of argan oil to help care for their hair and skin. It's even beginning to appear in mascara formulas as it's claimed it helps to make your lashes longer and more lustrous. My hair is very dry and has a wiry texture (it almost feels like fine fishing line) and the oil in it's pure form really helps to add moisture and softness to my hair. Even if you are lucky enough to have naturally soft hair, argan oil is a nice finishing touch to add extra gloss and shine.

Although finding shampoos, conditioners, hair styling products and skincare products containing argan oil is easy, due to the oil's rarity they come at a relatively high price. As I mentioned before, the oil is extracted from the argan tree which is found in southern Morocco. The traditional method of extracting the oil was to collect argan fruit, dry it, extract the nuts, crack them to reveal the kernels and then to crush them to release their oil. The process was done by hand and took fifteen hours of labour and thirty two kilograms of fruit to produce just one litre of oil! These days the kernels are mechanically cold pressed (heat damages the oil's chemical properties). The tree is rare, extracting the oil is labour intensive... hence the high price. However, the good news is a little oil goes a long way.

The scarcity of the argan tree is where the problem lies. There are so many products on the market now which contain argan oil or are marketed as 'argan oil' or 'Moroccan oil'. But if you examine the label, there are often other ingredients (such as silicon) in larger quantities than the actual argan oil. Cosmetic companies need to work hard to ensure that the supply of argan oil is sustainable and of a high quality, untainted by other oils or substances.

So how do you know you are getting the real deal? If you are buying a product containing argan oil - check the ingredients. Look out for 'argania spinosa kernel oil', it should be high up the ingredients list and ideally, the product should contain as few ingredients as possible. The more ingredients that the oil is mixed with, the less effective the oil will be. If you are buying pure argan oil, make sure it is in a dark coloured bottle as the light passing through a clear bottle can break down the oil's chemical properties. Some products that are marketed as argan oil also contain a carrier oil such as olive or sunflower oil. Also be aware of the price you are paying. Argan oil doesn't have to cost a fortune but at the same time, it is a rare oil that is labour intensive to produce and so isn't usually sold at a 'giveaway' price. The best argan oil product isn't necessarily the most expensive but remember the saying, 'you get what you pay for'.

Why would you want to buy a specific skin care product? Maybe it's because it tightens your skin or keeps it hydrated. Here are the benefits of using Gentle Magic Skin Care.

Gentle Magic Skin Care is an affordable range of products that enhances the skin on your face. The product is light enhancing and should be used if your dermatologist recommends it especially if you suffer from darkness of the skin, such as dark spots, it would be advisable to use it.

Gentle Magic Skin Care targets impurities of the face. The chemicals in it break down the bacteria and in only one day you would be able to see the difference. It is gentle on your skin yet it is tough on impurities.

This range of creams opens up the pores of the face thus making it easier to disinfect the harmful bacteria that can hectically damage the skin permanently. It increases circulation which makes the skin able to heal itself quicker.

This particular range works as an on-going treatment. You should use it regularly because the chemical doesn't react properly when it is used at irregular intervals. The good part about this is that you don't have to look for new creams every time you go to the wholesale suppliers.

Gentle Magic Skin Care range contains Vitamin B3 and Ethyl alcohol. Vitamin B3 improves the softness of the face and increases hydration. It prevents heavy ageing from occurring by increasing the elasticity and tones the skin evenly.

Ethyl alcohol or ethanol is an alcoholic chemical that dries the skin quickly which benefits oily skin. Ethanol helps the other chemicals in the product to penetrate the skin which is why it works so quickly. Another interesting benefit about having this type of alcohol in your product is that it keeps your make up long lasting.

The results on your skin will be better if the whole range is used together as directed because the chemicals are created to work together. Be sure to stock up on the full range at a cash and carry wholesaler. It is important to know what your skin needs and not jump quickly between skin care products because of what you see in advertisements. Gentle Magic Skin Care works well for extremely problematic skin and skin that does not get irritated quickly. Other than that, it's an amazing product for clearing skin beautifully.

J&E Cash 'n Carry is one of South Africa's biggest wholesalers in the following categories of products: Cosmetics, Groceries, Sweets, Personal Care, Household, Health, Beauty, Baby, Hardware, Electric & Stationery. We supply traders only, and offer the highest standards of se

One look at the makeup aisle and you find yourself automatically drawn to the mystical fragrances and vibrant packaging. Before you know it, you are walking out with new products and a hefty bill. We know you love your beauty products and deserve to be pampered. But don't worry here are some tips that let you be the beauty queen without breaking the bank!

1. Watch out for Sales!

Black Friday deals are great, but you can find huge discounts on your favorite brands all year long! Most of the stores have a newsletter in which they announce discounts and sales, often giving you a special online discount that's not available in the store. So go to your favorite beauty store's websites and sign up for their newsletters.

2. Let your multi-tasking talents shine

You may not realize it but most of your beauty products can serve more than one purpose. Dab your liquid lipstick on cheeks and blend to save money on the blush. Instead of pressed highlighters invest in liquid highlighters, mix a few drops with your foundation or bb cream for dewy finish when the matte finish is out of style. Get creative and save money. This is the perfect gift for girls.

3. Go to the drugstore

To someone who's addicted to high-end brands buying makeup and skincare at a drugstore may sound horrible, but most of the drugstore brands are priced at a fraction of your beloved high-end brands and offer products with amazing quality. Avoid investing in high-end products which you must replace very frequently like mascaras, eyeliners, and compacts, or products you want a lot of variety in like lipsticks.

4. Get beauty box subscriptions

The dividing line between pornography and art is thin, yet there is a line. Painting a woman in the nude is an expression of love for god.

Introduction by my Uncle

My uncle Parduman died last year. He was 88. The sad part was that he died unsung and unheralded, though he was a painter of some standing. Sadder was the fact that he had left his family at the age of 80 and come back to Mumbai to paint. But he couldn't re-establish and died lonely. I wish I had been there to help him, but he was gone ere I came to know about him. My memory of him is of a vibrant painter who once took me to a nude painting class.

It was a wonderful experience as the nude model posed before some 14 artistes including 2 girls, as each sketched her. The nude model had her thighs crossed and I felt she was a little self-conscious. But over the years I have been wondering why painters have been painting nudes.

Nude and Naked
While in school our art master Mr. Paul once took us to an exhibition of paintings of the famous painter Roerich, a Russian. What caught my eyes were the large paintings of nude women that adorned the exhibition. Being an amateur painter myself, I did sketch one nude of a sleeping woman. Unfortunately, it is perhaps lying in a loft at my house.

The charm of painting a nude woman cannot be described. It differs from a naked woman, which somehow looks slightly distasteful. But the Greeks and our own ancient artistes all brought forward the nude woman. Most of the Goddesses of the Hindus have been sculptured nude in the temples, so I wonder what the fuss is all about Hussein's paintings.

Nude women and beauty
The fact of the matter is that a nude woman is an object of beauty. Hence a painter will try to capture that beauty. One has to see the Paintings of Goya, Picasso, and Dali to realize this. But remember nude paintings are not for the voyeur. They are basically an expression of art. Maybe at some stage love and sex may also be a part of it, but that is what the Tantra and Acharaya Rajneesh have been talking about.

Last Word
I for one respect the artiste's point of view. My friend an art teacher at the Art School commented ' Look its just an expression of ones innermost feelings.' I will leave it at that. However, I have one last observation. remember painting a nude woman is something serious and perhaps that is the reason that all nude paintings never show women smiling. Ever thought of that?

Dear Me,

I know. I know. It's been quite some time since we last had a heart-to-heart chat. But you know me better than anyone on this planet. I just keep getting busier and busier till I reach the burnt-out point and then I spoil myself silly with overindulgence - till my skin scrrrreeams. My eyes, hair, nails and skin are all grouchy. Why do I do this?

I can overcome self-neglect...

But then again, how about giving myself tiny goals and patting myself every time I achieve them? How about squeezing in 5 minutes for myself? Yes, I can! OK, so what's on my checklist?

1. I'm not buying any under-eye cream or skin cream just because my best friend bought it.
2. If I can't make sense of the fancy-shmancy ingredients (read chemicals) in the creams, then I'm not buying them.
3. I'm indulging in only those beauty products that suit me.
4. I need to understand my skin, personality, preferences.
5. Ummm... act on the above.

What am I?

So, after I checked myself from succumbing to the pressure of buying 'just because' (eyes rolling) plus, those bizarre chemicals (I'd have to be an Einstein to understand those terms); I feel good. Isn't that so, my dear me?
Now to the next point. What am I? What suits me and my skin?

Ayurveda has the answers...

After frantic online search I stop at age-old Ayurveda - the knowledge of life. At least, I'd be nurturing myself then. No side-effects. So here's what I find:

1. My long-term and stable energy-field or basic constitution is my prakriti.
2. My prakriti is basically made up of 3 main doshas: Vata, Pitta and Kapha.
3. I could be either one or a combination of the three - Vata-Pitta, Pitta-Kapha, Vata-Kapha and Vata-Pitta-Kapha.
4. I need to consult an Ayurveda practitioner for finding out my most dominant or leading prakriti type.

But how will I use my dosha as a part of my skincare regime...
All right, I have all this knowledge now. How do I apply it on me? Easy.

BALANCE YOUR DOSHA.

Wait, what?
Yes, balance your dosha. That's what Ayurveda is all about. Harmony.

- So, if I'm a Vata (which means I'm thin, energetic, have irregular sleep patterns, dry skin) then I need something hydrating, soothing and protect my skin from harsh climate.
- If I'm a Pitta (I have oily skin that is prone to turning red and I get irritable when I'm tired) then I need something that is chemicals-free, no strong fragrances and protect me from the sun.
- If I'm a Kapha (I'm heavy build, tend to gain weight easily, have dull skin, can get stubborn) then I need a good but gentle cleansing products and light moisturizers.
One size doesn't fit all. I am unique. So are my skincare needs.

Lastly...

I'll spare myself the why-didn't-I-think-of-this-before guilt trip. All that matters is that I feel safe and cared for. Goodbye neglect and chemicals. Hello healing touch and Ayurveda.

With love,
Me.

Makeup is a vital part of a woman's attire. Hours have been spent in front of the mirror to get it right and yet you are still the talking point of the event for the wrong reasons. So, it doesn't matter how good you are in your home makeup skills you are definitely vulnerable to mistakes and some of them you don't even realize. What is Professional Makeup in Delhi all about? Find out!

Get your basics right

Primers and Foundations are the base of every makeup so it is important to get this right first. Most people make the mistake of not using a vitamin-rich primer, to begin with, and as a result after a few hours, they start thinking why their makeup is transferring. So, choose a primer with antioxidants and keeps it from getting messy.

After Primer, Foundation is the most frequent mistake that's been made during makeup as people tend to go overboard not only with the quantity but also with the choice of colour. To avoid this mishap, sample multiple foundations by applying them to your jawline. It has two benefits, you will see whether the colour is dark or light according to your complexion and you will also understand its undertone.

Powdering is not the solution

The common notion here is that if you have oily skin the only way to mattify it is to use setting powders. Now, this may be great for some people but this also creates issues for others, especially for people who have acne. So, the very simple solution here is to use anti-shine gels, this will eliminate the shine that you mainly see in forehead, nose and chin.

Another common powdering mistake is the use of excessive bronze powder. Now the aim of a bronze powder is to imitate the sun's effect by warming the complexion of your skin. So, use the bronze powder strategically and apply it on the curved regions like a tip of the nose, a tip of the chin, forehead for a bright look.

Don't go wrong with nude lipsticks

Nude lipsticks have become more and more popular in the past couple of years. But the chances of going wrong with it are also high; so, you have to be attentive before you buy one. To begin with, don't choose a colour that is so thick it will look like that you have applied foundation on your lips. Also, choose a colour that is lighter than your complexion but not so light that you look like a zombie.

Seal it with setting spray

Setting spray is your final touch as applying it ensures a long-lasting and fresh face. This will keep the makeup in place and prevent it from transferring. This also provides an extra layer of protection to your skin and mainly to the people who have sensitive skin. This will double up as a primer and will protect your skin from heavy makeup like adhesive and glitters.

Make sure you read these tips to help you apply false eyelashes. Applying false lashes is much easier than it seems and you can do it like a pro in no time!

Want to get the most natural look from faux eyelashes? It is definitely easier than you think. Here are a few tips to get you started:

Make sure to take your eyelashes out of the package and bend them back and forth to soften the strip. The good eyelash strips will already have a soft strip so no need to over do it because most of the work will be done with you.

Make sure to measure the eyelash strip and make necessary adjustments. If you want to make sure that the eyelash looks natural then you need to make sure that the strip is the exact same size as your natural lashes. Trim the extra pieces if any, and make sure that both eyelash strips are the same length.

Apply mascara to your own eyelashes BEFORE applying the eyelash strip. Putting mascara on your own lashes makes a huge difference when trying to apply the eyelash strip because it gives it more surface area for the lash to adhere to. This technique also makes it easier to remove the eyelash strip at the end of the night because the lash is attached to mascara and not just your bare lashes.

Once you apply the adhesive on the strip of eyelashes make sure to allow the adhesive to dry. The adhesive has to stay on the eyelash strip for at least a full minute before you put it on so that it can stick to the eyelash. This will help you keep your flawless look for the entire night without worrying that they will fall off.

Lastly, make sure to use makeup remover when taking off your eyelashes. This will save your natural lashes so they don't fall off and it also helps keep your eyelash strip in good condition. I usually apply the remover on the lashes and let it soak for a few minutes while I finish off my bedtime routine and then slowly remove them. If you use a remover and take care of the lashes they should last you quite a bit.

When choosing lipstick colors, there are three basic rules. (1) Thinner or smaller lips look best with brighter, more vivid colors. Brighter colors may take a bit of getting used to, but they truly make a smaller mouth more noticeable. Occasionally I read about or hear makeup advisorssuggesting that women should wear a neutral color on small lips and instead play up the eyes (as if the notion is ever to play down the eyes or ignore the mouth!). Test this technique for yourself before you give in to this nonsense. (2) Avoid darker colors on thin lips; they make the mouth look severe and harsh. (3) Larger lips can wear just about any color, but softer shades look better because darker or vivid colors can make large lips look too prominent.

Applying Lip Color

A lip brush or lip pencil is an optional accessory. You can use a lip pencil to draw a definitive edge around the mouth to follow when applying lipstick, and a lip brush to control your application. A tube of lipstick makes too wide a mark for some lips and too narrow a mark for others. If your lips are small, it is best to use a lip brush; if your lips are large, the only reason to use a lip brush is to improve your accuracy. If you do choose to work with a lip pencil, always place the color on the actual outline of your mouth. Do not use corrective techniques that make the mouth look larger or longer, especially for daytime makeup. If you try to change the outline of your mouth with a lip pencil by drawing outside the lips, some time later, when your lipstick wears off, the lip liner, which almost always lasts longer than the lipstick, will still be in place and it will look like you missed your lips. Always line the lips following their actual shape, then fill in the lipstick color, using either the tube or a lip brush. What about the center outline of the mouth? Do you round the point of the lips or make the point more obvious? As a general rule, a softer appearance is better than a hard one. Leave the points neither rounded nor pyramid-like—someplace in between with a soft arch is best. To prevent lipstick from gunking up in the corners of the mouth, don’t place lip liner or pencil in that area. Stop before you get to the very corners of the mouth. If you feel doing this makes you look as if you have missed a spot, carefully fill in this area with color using a lip brush, applying only the smallest amount. Lip pencils should never create a contrasting dark, brown, or clearly visible line. Your lip pencil should not appear to be an obvious line that shows up as a colored border around the lipstick. The goal is to have the lipstick and lip pencil meld so that you can’t see where one starts and the other stops. If you wear lip liner and you want to help your lipstick last longer, apply the lip pencil all over the lip area, including the outline of the lips, and then apply your lipstick over it. This extra step puts a more permanent color on the lips so the lipstick won’t wear off as quickly as it normally does. Beyond that, and with the exception of the various lip paints available (such as Max Factor Lipfinity or Cover Girl Outlast), all-day lipstick doesn’t exist. Even these formidable lip paints can present some reapplication issues if you eat oily foods, and there is still the issue of touching up with the moisturizing top coat that accompanies each of these paints. For years the cosmetics industry has been proclaiming new “all-day” or “long-wearing” lipsticks, yet women continually need to reapply their lipstick. To date it remains impossible for 99.9% of all lipsticks to make it past lunch, or even past midmorning, still looking the same as when you first put them on.
