In general, you should start with taking folic acid supplements to avoid spinal cord problems and to assist with the development of the baby's brain and spine. If you are overweight, start with an exercise program to shake the unnecessary weight. The closer you are to your optimum weight, the better it will be in terms of chances to conceive. Plus it will lower any other associated health risks.
If you are a smoker, you will need to stop smoking right away. And if you drink alcohol it would be a good idea to avoid it. Smoking and alcohol can affect the possibility of falling pregnant and it can cause serious damage to the foetus. It is best to bring your body back to its natural healthy state to ensure a healthy pregnancy.
